Elementary School, Middle School, and High School Student Supply Lists

1:1 Chromebook Initiative

The Riverside Twp. School District is moving to a 1:1 Chromebook initiative this school year. Students in grades 3rd - 12th will be provided with a Chromebook during the first few days of school to carry between school and home for the entire school year. Students in PreK - 2nd will have a Chromebook as well that will remain in their classroom for the school year.

Curriculum Updates

This summer, the district finished the multi-year work of updating all of our curricula to meet the newly adopted NJSLS by approving over 30 new curriculum documents. The state initially adopted NJSLS 2020 standards in the following content areas and established a two-year schedule for district-wide implementation by Fall 2022:

This last round of updates to our curriculum ensured that all documents now reflect the newest standards and expectations. If you would like to review a summary of the updated curriculum and/or the 2020 NJSLS, please feel free to check out our district curriculum page, where you can find information about curriculum news (like these updates), NJSLS links, assessments, etc.

Masks

The Riverside Twp. School District remains mask optional for all students and staff.

Cleaning

During each school day, while students are in the building, our custodians will be wiping down high-touch surfaces. They will be using Buckeye Eco Neutral Disinfectant E23. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved Buckeye Eco Neutral Disinfectant E23 for use against SARS-Related Coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV-2). After students are dismissed every day, custodians will clean and disinfect each of the classrooms, offices, gymnasium, computer labs, weight room, all-purpose room, faculty rooms, cafeterias, media centers, bathrooms, etc., with Buckeye Eco Neutral Disinfectant "E23" through an ionization sprayer. Another chemical we also use nightly is Buckeye Terminator one-step disinfectant, "The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has also approved this product for use against SARS-Related Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)". The information on the product descriptions listed in this paragraph came directly from the company's literature.
Additionally, each classroom has B23 bucket wipes in their classroom, and there are approximately 350 sanitation stations throughout the district, including in the classrooms.

Parent/Guardian Survey (closes on Friday, September 2nd)

Reminder:

Parent/Guardian Survey (closes on Friday, September 2nd)

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we prepare for the 2022-2023 school year, we are excited about the traditions and culture that have always made Riverside #RamTastic. However, we are also excited to bring on new staff, programs, and resources to do even more for our students. Staff and administration have been working together to plan various programs for our students and are constantly checking that we meet their needs. In order to gather feedback on these efforts anonymously, we are partnering with an external organization, TESO (Teach Educators & Scholars Organization, LLC), surveying all staff, students, and parents to better understand how well we are fully and equitably meeting the needs of the Riverside community.

As the first and most important teacher and advocate for your children, you can provide invaluable feedback and insight in that area, and we thank you in advance for your honest input on this survey. Our ultimate goal is to provide opportunities and access to all students and create an environment where every member of the school community feels like they belong and have what they need to succeed. That goal cannot be achieved without collecting feedback on our current efforts.

Therefore, in order to facilitate an in-depth “landscape analysis” of the full educational program, the survey will focus on four priority areas: 1) student learning experiences, 2) professional learning, 3) policies, and 4) resource allocation.

We ask that you please take 15-20 minutes to complete the Landscape Analysis Survey. The information we learn from your survey (along with others) will inform the development of a district plan to guide efforts to create a more equitable environment for all students to succeed. Please note that your participation is voluntary, and your responses are anonymous and confidential. Because we are not asking for your name, you can be completely honest in how you answer the questions. Your online survey submission means that you agree to participate in this process.

Please complete the survey by September 2, 2022, to ensure that your input is included in the data collection and analysis process for future planning.
