Principal's Den
I hope you are all healthy and doing well. This week we continue our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 - October 15.
We are now at the midpoint of our first trimester. Please make sure to maintain close communication with your student's teacher regarding the progress of your child. It is important and necessary that all families complete the parent portal update in order to receive messages and updates from teachers, school, and our district office.
Our after school Mandarin classes for DLI students and 4th and 5th graders will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Ballet Folklorico practice is on Tuesdays after school. California Cadet Corps practice is on Mondays after school. Choir practice is on Thursdays after school.
Thank you for your support in keeping all of our kids safe. This includes respecting school zone speed limits and looking out for our pedestrians. I appreciate you for helping students cross the street and for your patience during drop-off and pick-up. Now that we have our TK also dismissing at 2:05pm we have more vehicles and traffic during pick-up. Please plan accordingly. We are trying our best to supervise our students during dismissal. Thank you for your understanding and for giving yourself enough time during after school pick-up.
The safety of our students is a top concern for us. You can expect to see several of our staff, including our admin team, in the morning after 7:10am when we open the front gates both at the front and the back of our school. You will also find us at both the front and back gates during dismissal.
Let me remind you that all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch, but it is very important that you all complete the lunch application in order for our district to be reimbursed. If your child is planning to eat breakfast at school, please plan to arrive before 7:40am and give your student time to eat breakfast before the start of class at 7:45am.
Thank you all for your continued support. Together we will work to make this the best school year for our lions! LEADERS BY EXAMPLE!!
Thank you,
At Cloverdale we strive to be Leaders by Example. As I mention to our students during announcements, this means that we always try to do the right thing even when no one is looking.
As part of our school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS), we also learn to ROAR. This is a matrix that exemplifies our core values of being Respectful, Organized, Accountable, and Responsible.
Our goal is to be college ready once we graduate from High School and that starts today!
Sincerely,
Genaro García
Principal
