Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration for the 23-24 school year is open! Please help us spread the word with our neighbors and community to register students now.
We are excited that we have our STEAM into Kindergarten event on Thursday, March 2! Lots of parents will register for kindergarten after this event, but we need to have more students register before the event this year.
If you have an upcoming kindergarten student, please tap the graphic below to register. If you know of anyone that has a student that needs to enroll please pass this information along to them.
Please call the office if you have any questions. We are happy to assist with enrollment! We are also happy to schedule a tour for you that works for your schedule. Come in and see all that we have to offer!
We cannot wait to meet our incoming kindergarten students!
Thank you,

Pick up and Drop off Procedures
Please make sure you are using the parent drop-off/pick-up loop at the school when dropping off or picking up your student. Community members have notified the school of an increase in parents' parking on residential streets, especially after school. Please plan on meeting your child at the school drop-off and pick-up zones.
Students should NEVER be dropped off in the bus lane. This is an extremely dangerous practice.

Drop your shoulders and relax. Everything is going to be okay!
For Example: if you are arguing with friends, try thinking about each other's body language. Think about it, What can you take responsibility for to help the situation?
Feel sympathy for others.
Think about their side of the problem/issue
Treat others the way you want to be treated
For Example: arguing with friends, try thinking about the other person’s feelings. Would you want to feel that way?
Listen to their side of the story
listen, hear, and understand their perspective
You don’t always have to agree but don’t interrupt the person’s thoughts.
For example: show compassion and use your ears to listen to what they have to say. Wait your turn!
Problem Solve and Find a Solution
Brainstorm to find a fair solution to the conflict
Work together to make it better!
For Example: Playing Four Square…. Ball goes out, someone saw it was in…Instead of arguing find a fair solution, like redoing the play!
Kindness Week - February 13-17
Tuesday: Wear a kindness shirt or pink and red
Thursday: Wear a bright color to color our campus with kindness
Friday: We athletic wear and joggers to help us spread kindness (World Kindness Day!)
Students will receive a Kindness Challenge Map to check off Kindness acts that they complete beginning this week. Students that complete the challenges can turn them into the library to be drawn for prizes the last week of February!
Gifted Program Survey
Gifted Services is seeking input from our parent community to support continuous improvement within our department. The online parent survey is available between now and February 24th.
Hello Families,
Our motto in school this week is: I drop my shoulders. I take a few breaths. I can handle this.
Problems are a part of life, so naturally, they will be a part of our children's lives too. When our children take a moment to pause and become calm when dealing with life's frustrations, they are better able to process the problem and focus on solutions. Taking a pause helps our children to avoid thoughts that sound like: "This isn't fair!" or "Why me?"
Answers to questions like this likely include pity or blame, and they keep us stuck in the problem rather than help us find a solution. By pausing, even for a moment, and affirming that we can overcome our challenges, we are better able to respond thoughtfully instead of reacting emotionally. A thoughtful response to our challenges sounds more like: "How can I best respond to what happened?"
The answers to this question will be solution-oriented and focused on what's next rather than on what happened. So, the next time your child feels frustrated, encourage them to let their shoulders drop down away from their ears, take a few deep breaths, and remind them that they are excellent problem solvers and that they will solve this problem too! You can help them begin by asking the right questions, such as, what do you recommend we do next?
After all, success doesn't happen because of the absence of frustrations and mistakes; it happens because of how we handle them.
Best to you,
Danna Evans
All Things E.Q.
Our Scholastic Book Fair is coming up! We would love to have all of our students use the eWallet option Scholastic has! No need to worry about your student losing the cash you sent in with them. We can easily look up to see how much money is on their eWallet. If they do not spend all of their money at the book fair, you can use it on the Scholastic website to order books!
