KT 3 and 4-Course Descriptions - June 3-4, 2017

KT3: Clinical Concepts of the Kinesio Taping® Method Course Description:

This course is designed to teach advanced fundamentals of Kinesio Taping for the entire body as outlined by the KinesioTaping® Association. Participants will learn advanced concepts of the Kinesio Taping® method. KT 1 and 2 are a prerequisite for taking KT3. 8 CEU's are awarded for completion of KT3 and you will be eligible to sit for the KT exam and become a certified Kinesiotaping practitioner (CKTP).

KT4: Specialty Sports/Orthopedic Concepts of the Kinesio Taping® Method Course Description:

KT 4 Advanced Specialty courses are the newest courses researched and designed by the KTA. Each instructor has had extensive training in each specialty area he/she is teaching. Participants will problem solve and consult during extensive specialty lab sessions. KT 1-3 are prerequisites. PTNW is excited to bring 3 specialties courses in Orthopedic/Sports Injury this year. 8 CEU's are awarded for completion of KT 4.

PTNW KT 3 and 4 Course Registration Fees include: Full-color reference workbook and x2 rolls Kinesio Tex® FP Tape to use during lab sessions/course.

Both courses are approved by the Kinesio Taping® Association, NCBTMB, and AOTA. BOC with special approval.

Who can attend this course? Pre-requisites for KT 3 is KT 1 and 2; pre-requisites for KT 4 Specialty is KT 1, 2, and 3. Physical and Occupational Therapists, Physical and Occupational Therapy Assistants, Massage Practitioners, Athletic Trainers, and Chiropractors, ND's, RN's, and more.

Approval: All KT courses are approved for PTNW and/or the KTA by NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork) and American Occupational Therapy Association. BOC (Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers) with special approval.

Masahiro Takakura, ND, LAc, DC, CKTI

Dr. Takakura (known to us as Dr. Masa) earned a BS (2000) in natural sciences, ND (2002), and MSAOM (2003) all from Bastyr University. He practiced in Bellevue, Washington before moving to Illinois in 2004. He attended the Chiropractic program at National University of Health Science while maintaining a private practice at The Brannick Clinic of Natural Medicine at Riverside, Illinois. In 2005, he moved to Colorado and practiced at Fountain Creek Wellness Center in Manitou Springs, Colorado. He returned to the Pacific Northwest in 2006 where he was a Core faculty member of the physical medicine department at Bastyr University, clinical supervision at Myofascial Analysis; Naturopathic Manipulation 1; Hydrotherapy/Physiotherapy lab; CranioSacral Therapy; and Clinical Rotations. In 2013, he began working on the Seattle Mariners medical team! Dr. Takakura has a special interest in physical medicine and pain management. He is an outstanding speaker, we are lucky to have him present!

Registration Fee: $275 prior to May 27, 2017 and $300 on or after May 28, 2017. If registering for two or more courses above, registration is $255 each prior to May 27, 2017.
