SHARK SHOUTOUTS
- Shark Shoutout to Ms. Hooper for all her help with room arrangements for MCAS! We appreciate you so much! -Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Ginnetty
I'd like to send a Shark Shout Out to Beth Herbst for all the time and energy she gives to her math students. She goes above and beyond and is a beloved teacher by all her students!! Thank you for helping Ryan love Math for the first time in his life!! -Mrs. Betsy Casey
- Shark Shout Out to Emily Celia, Class of 2022 VPA intern, for designing the logo for the Cape Cod National Seashore Lifeguard Alumni Association's 60th reunion. Thank you! -Ms. Freitas
- Huge shoutout to Mickey Oliver and the Internship program - and especially Senior Charlie Watson - for helping my English class this year. Charlie is one of the kindest, most knowledgeable, and politest gentlemen I have ever met. His help was invaluable - working one on one, and as part of the group, to not only teach English, but to mentor and serve as a role model to our eighth graders. He went well beyond what was expected - and developed an amazing rapport with the students and me. He could easily step into a classroom and teach on his own. Equally as impressive is the strength of character he brings to whatever he does - naturally reflecting honesty, integrity and empathy. He and Miss Oliver are two of the brightest and best parts of our Monomoy community. And I am very grateful for the sweatshirt that will remind me always, of the gift of kindness and help that Charlie brought to our classroom. -Mr. George Sowpel
Audiobook SYNC has begun!
Every Thursday until August 17, AudioFile Magazine is giving away a thematic pair of audiobooks to everyone who signs up for the program. Visit the 2022 SYNC Audiobooks page on the library website to find out how to participate.
This week's theme is "Classic Roots.” This thematic pair includes Lilliam Rivera’s Never Look Back, contemporary retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice story with Afro-Latinx characters. When Morning Comes by Arushi Raina is the second half of this week’s pair. This book tells the story of what happens when a privileged Johannesburg student falls head over heels for a girl from the other side of town in apartheid-torn South Africa in 1976.
Both books have a 35,999 day check out, but they do need to be checked out by May 18th.
