A Note From Mrs. Waters
The week ended hard with the sad news that Robert (Crew) Carroll, a grade 5 teacher, passed away. I have spent much of the weekend being a support to his wife, Anne (a first grade teacher) .
With only 2 more weeks of school left, there will not be homework for the rest of the year. I still encourage students to read every night. There is also a great math app, called Math Doodles, which will be helpful for students to practice over the summer.
Next weeks ABC countdown:
Sunday: Quiet Day
Monday: Reading in the 1st Grade Hallway
Tuesday: Stuffed Animal (students may bring one small stuffed animal to school)
Wednesday: T-Shirt (bring an old t-shirt to school for friends to sign)
Thursday: Upon a Day (students dress up as a fairy tale character)
Reading
Practiced and preformed a Fairy Tale Reader's Theater.
Writing
Began writing their own fairy tale book.
Math
Social Studies
School Announcements
From the Library
On 4,7 and 8 June, students and parents will be able to check out 15 items for the summer recess from the library. Students require parental permission to do this. Please see the attached form. There will also be a copy in this week's Sahifa library news for future reference.
Thanks,
Catherine
