Dewing School
Office Update: December 9, 2021
Dewing School Information from Mrs. Gerrish and Mrs. Bosworth
It snowed!!! Though it was just a coating, today's snow made me a little excited to see our community transformed into a winter wonderland. As a reminder, please make sure your child has a warm coat, hat and gloves for the colder winter days. Please also make sure each item is labeled...our lost and found is getting bigger and bigger. Our goal is to send children outside to play as much as we can!
Illness-As you may have noticed on the TPS dashboard, we have seen a rise in COVID cases across the schools. This week has been particularly busy here at the Dewing. We are asking that if your child feels ill, please keep your child home and contact the school nurse, Jill Robinson. It is very important that all protocols are followed consistently. Nurse Robinson can be contacted by email: Jrobinson@tewksbury.k12.ma.us or by calling the main line 98-640-7858. If you wish for your child to participate in weekly testing or test and stay, the CIC link is in this letter.
Toys at school/fidget items-We ask that toys and fidget items remain at home. We have had a number of items being lent or traded between students. This does not always have a positive outcome. By keeping the items at home, we can avoid these kinds of situations. If items are brought to school and subsequently misplaced, please understand that the school cannot be responsible for finding these items. We appreciate your cooperation.
Giving Tree: The Dewing Giving Tree has started. Please see this link if you are interested in participating. All items must be brought to the school by December 17. Thank you! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050F4BABAA2AABF94-dewingnorth
Drive In Movie Night at MVP will take place tomorrow. The Grinch will be played. You must register in advance, due to space limitations. Please see below.
Recent Arts amd Enrichment events.
Through the generosity and energy of parents from our Dewing PAC, students were able to participate in one of three fun events during school recently.
Grade 2 - Extreme Science
Grade 1 - Tony Vacca Drumming
Kindergarten and Preschool - Bubblemania
Thank you very much for supporting this enriched programming for our children.
Bus Information-Our buses continue to reduce COVID-19 transmission risk by opening windows in order to increase outdoor air ventilation . Guidance from DESE includes keeping windows open at least two inches at all times during operation. In adverse weather conditions(cold/snow/rain), every other window can be opened. We request that families send their students to ride the bus in the appropriate attire to keep them warm and dry.
