WATERFORD MISSION
At Waterford Elementary we believe in all students and staff learning and growing together; where innovation, diversity, and relationships are valued.
Choose Your Attitude, Make Their Day, Be Present, Play
Choose Your Attitude
Teachers - Thanks for having a great attitude during our first Data Day on Tuesday! You really dug into the data to create student cards and goal setting worksheets along with developing a teacher goal for your BOY conference with me! Great work!!
Make Their Day
All those who made treats for the September Birthdays on Monday! You definitely made the day for all staff with the special treats!
K-2 Data Day Teachers for creating the Student Card Template
Be Present
Thanks to Jama, Gary, Mark, Kyle, Joy, Marica, and Randy for "being present" for the Bus Evacuation Drills on Wednesday morning!
Play
For June working with the "Waterford Welcomers" to "role play" introduction of new students!
Joy gets an "A" for "carving out" more time! The conversation went like this, "Yes, you read that right. I am proposing that we meet on Thursday at 10:00 p.m., since we have so much to do. :) JK!!!!! I have to meet with you to go over the iReady stuff before we start on Monday. When???? IDK. It will probably take about 30 minutes."

Follow-Up to Data Day
Please remember the following after our Data Day on Tuesday:
- Have goal setting conferences with your students between now and September 30th. (Goals are based on their individual RIT's in reading and math for MOY)
- Complete reflections on your goal setting conferences with students and bring your reflections (written in your cluster journal) to our Data Day, Part II, on October 4th. (The reflection questions are included in the Data Day PP I sent to you this afternoon.)
- Complete your Teacher Goals for Reading and Math (Boy to MOY), schedule a goal setting conference with Katrina, and meet with her by October 7th.
- September 28th: Will be our first D.A.M. (Data Analysis Meeting) during grade level planning. Julea and I will be meeting with Grade Level teams in the TAP room. We will be focusing on math. More information will be forthcoming.
I-READY UPDATE
We had 6 of us attend the I-Ready training on Thursday, Sept. 7th. This is going to be a great tool for us to provide math support to students at the varying levels in each classroom!
Randy has already developed and communicated a schedule for the 45 minutes a week needed for students to work on the iReady program. We will begin this schedule next week. Please see Randy if you have any questions.

REPORT CARD UPDATE
The report card draft has been completed and is in the technology department for formatting. A copy will be sent to each principal to share with grade levels. When you look at it, you will have the opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions. These will be shared with district leadership who will make final recommendations.
Additionally, we will not be using Skyward for grades at least for the first semester. However, teachers will need to enter final grades at some point for the quarters. Sarah will be sharing information on this process with all of you soon.
TLT Update
This week in TLT we continued our work on Learning Walks by developing a Learning Walk Form, along with Norms, based on the survey feedback that we received. The purpose, forms, and norms will be shared at the next Grade Level PLC Meeting on 9/20/16. Grade Level Chairs will then be sharing the information with their teams for feedback before finalizing the procedure and forms. Please don't hesitate to ask a TLT member for an update on our work!
