Springing Forward Toward Goals & Beyond
The Buzz Lightyear character in Disney-Pixar's Toy Story series had the tag line of
"to infinity and beyond." Each morning as students and staff rev up our internal engines, I like to think of Buzz's ambitious tag line, as we strive toward our academic, personal, and professional goals. We know the importance of our outlook on our collective chances for success, and we know the power of belief. At Crossroads Academy High School and DAEP, our teams believe in our students, believe in each other, and believe in the U. We are emboldened by that shared belief to see the success we've achieved to date, and know that there is so much more that we are capable of. Our teams at Crossroads and DAEP have been meeting on Wednesday afternoons in flipped PLC models and pushing the envelope of what is possible in education. We have been working to find better ways to support improved student attendance and achievement. We have conducted home visits, made countless personalized communications to parents and students, and all in the spirit of hope and belief. With each credit completion that we celebrate, each reintegration circle we hold, and each graduate that completes their public school education, that hope and belief is affirmed, and we continue our march to infinity and beyond.
