Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3-7!

Teacher Appreciation Week Hosted by the PTA

The Merrill PTA held a Facebook fundraiser, and with the generosity of the Merrill community, raised over $1500 for teacher appreciation events for the rest of the year. The PTA will kick off Teacher Appreciation week on Monday with bagels and coffee and finish the week on Friday with an ice cream truck. Additionally, the PTA will again sponsor a BBQ for the Merrill staff on the last day before summer.

For anyone who didn't get a chance to donate to the fundraiser, or who would like to help with teacher appreciation in another way, click the link to a Sign Up Genius to help provide drinks and snacks in the teacher's lounge. Thank you, Merrill Community and Merrill PTA!

Thank you, PTA!

The Merrill team would like to extend a huge thank you to the Merrill PTA for supporting the Merrill staff and students throughout this pandemic year. From books to playground equipment, food and drinks to school supply kits, and finally advocacy for public education all the way up to the state level, the Merrill PTA is always there. • Laptop
  • Power cord and adapter (both the cord and the adapter itself)
  • Hot Spot with power cable and original box (for those families who have a DMPS hotspot)
  • Laptop Bag (in-person students)

(Virtual Families: If your student was assigned a DMPS computer, but has been using a personal computer at home, you may turn in the DMPS computer at any time.)

Grading and Feedback

Tracking Student Progress

To track your student’s progress throughout the year, we suggest two steps:

  • Join Canvas as an Observer so that you can see the assignments that your student is being given, the work that is submitted, and the feedback that is received.

  • Check Infinite Campus periodically for updates on SRG topic scores, being sure to select Term 22 for student scores and in-progress grades during second semester.

For more information about SRG in Des Moines Public Schools, please click here. For additional information or questions about Infinite Campus or Canvas navigation, please contact Danielle Taylor or Allison Chartier, Merrill Instructional Coaches. For course specific questions, please contact your child's teacher.
