Ben Franklin's Daily Announcements
Today is Tuesday, September 8th – it is a “B” day.
Student Congressional Debate will hold its first Zoom meeting tonight at 7pm. Stop in the main office to get the Zoom link. We will answer questions about the activity and start discussing the new topics. In addition, we will hold a follow up meeting on Thursday, Sept. 10th in the Ben Franklin Library at 2:35pm right after school. Anyone in 7th or 8th grade can participate. Congress is considered a lettering varsity activity. Please email questions to ellingc@fargoschools.org or stop in the main office.
Have you ever noticed all the commercials for exercise equipment and health club memberships? We hear a lot about body building . . . and we hear a lot about building fame and fortune, too. But what about building character, building principles like honesty, fairness, kindness, and moral strength? Character is, after all, the most important thing we will ever build. The Irish say it this way: A fair character is a fair fortune. In other words, if you are a person of character, you are a wealthy person. Why? Because what makes a person rich is not how much money she has, but how much character she has. Today, remember this: If you want to build a truly rich life, start now by building those character muscles.
