A Note from the principal
Hello Easley Families!
I hope everyone enjoyed the long holiday weekend that honors all the men and women who have perished while serving our country. This has been such surreal end to the school year and it's so hard to believe we only have three weeks left!
Fifth Grade Celebration
It's unfortunate we will not be able to send our fifth graders on to middle school in typical Easley fashion, however you can be sure we are still planning a special celebration ceremony. On Friday, June 5th at 8:30 AM we will hold a virtual ceremony via Zoom where teachers and admin will share messages to our students. After the virtual ceremony, families will be given times (according to homerooms) when they can drive up to the school, through the carline, to pick-up the certificate and a small gift. Students will be able to step out of the car to retrieve their certificate and pose for a photo. Of course we will be sure we are abiding by the county ordinances and abide by the social distancing recommendations. More details will follow!
Yearbook Pick-up
Last Saturday was the day for yearbook distribution at the school. If you were unable to pick-up your child's yearbook at that time, you can expect to hear from the classroom teacher. Any yearbook that was not picked-up has been left with the teacher and they will arrange a time for you to come by school to get it. For anyone who is unable to get the book when the teacher is at school, we are happy to hold on to it until we return to school in August.
Year-Round Calendar
On Wednesday night the school board approved the new proposed year-round calendar. The first day of school is August 3rd, making the breaks are a little shorter than usual. If all goes as planned we would be off for one week in the fall, two and half weeks in the winter, and two weeks in the spring, with the usual end date.

Kindergarten Registration
Do you have a rising kindergarten student? Are you wondering about registration? Durham Public Schools is in the process of creating a new registration process in light of our current situation. In the meantime we are in the midst of planning classes for next year and would like to know who will be registering with Easley. Hopefully we will be starting in July; right now we are planning as if that is the case. Please take a moment and complete the form below.
