Message from the Principal
Hello parents,
What a busy week!
Junior High students were festive throughout as they participated in Spirit Week. Participation was extremely high. Thursday's Halloween costume contest was the paragon.
The annual Gloucester County Flu Clinic was well received as members of the community came to this centrally located building to receive free flu vaccinations.
Woodbury's first ever Boo at the Woo family event occurred on Wednesday night and was a resounding success. Junior-Senior High students and club advisors transformed our hallways into spooky stops along a trick or treat pathway. Elementary aged children accompanied by their parents came to a partake in the activity. Participants donated a large amount of canned goods that will go towards the local food bank and helping needy families during the upcoming holiday season.
Remember that next week we have a shortened schedule with school only open Monday and Tuesday.
Finally, good luck to our football team has they take on Haddon Heights at home at 2 pm and to the marching band as they compete at Vineland HS tomorrow. Go Herd!
Striving to bring out the best in every student,
Dr. Vivadelli

A Peek in Mrs. Lario's Classroom
Tenth-and twelfth-grade students in Mrs. Lario's English classes created their own spooky Halloween haikus, three line poems made up of exactly 17 syllables. Students then hung their poems on a Poetry tree in honor of famed macabre writer Edgar Allan Poe.

How long you have been at Woodbury: 3 years
1. What is your "go to" song for the journey to school?
I'm usually listening to podcasts in the morning, I love "Grownups Read Things They Wrote as Kids", "The Happiness Lab", and "Literary Friction", but if I had to pick a song, I would likely pick "Raise Your Voice" from Sister Act. I have to get ready for rehearsals in December.
2. Do you have a favorite saying or quote that you try to live by?
My favorite quote of all time is "It's a sin to kill a mockingbird" which is a quote from Atticus Finch in Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird . I suppose it's an odd quote to use, but I believe it has a multitude of meaning so I quote it often.
3. What is one of your hidden talents?
I'm not sure I have a hidden talent now, but I was able to quote most of Young Frankenstein when I was in 3rd grade. I can sing (or enjoy singing), but my students hear me sing all the time.
4. What are your "trapped on a desert island" books or movies?
To Kill a Mockingbird, Jane Eyre, and Harry Potter.
5. If you could take your students on a field trip to anywhere in the world, where would you take them?
If I could take my students anywhere for a field trip, I would take them to the Globe Theatre in London to see a Shakespeare production. Theatre and literature-- it's the best combination!
6. What is one piece of advice you would give to your students?
Remember to be kind to everyone around you, because one nice comment or gesture could make that person's day.
