Greetings Park Terrace Families!
I am so happy to be back at Park Terrace! It has been so fun to reconnect with all of our students and staff. I am grateful that things went well here while I was away and am appreciative of the support John Franke provided our building. Thank you to everyone for welcoming him here!
Last week was a lot of fun with our homecoming dress up days! Even though students might not be a part of the big game, dress up days sure make each day feel special and help to build our community!
This week will be an eventful one! We are beginning MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing this week. Throughout the week, students will be taking the assessment so we can better understand where each of our students are at in math and reading.
Picture days are also happening tomorrow, Thursday, October 6 and Friday, October 7. Your student’s teacher should have included information about which day for their class. If not, please contact the teacher or our main office. We will be able to help you know which day is your student’s picture day!
As a reminder, our Parent Teacher Association will meet on Tuesday, October 11 at 5:30 p.m. here at Park Terrace. Please stop on by to learn more about the PTA. We would love to see you there!
Additionally, we are finalizing our plans for parent/teacher conferences. Stay tuned for more information on dates, times and how to go about scheduling a conference with your student’s teacher!
I hope everyone has a great rest of the week! Enjoy this lovely fall weather while it lasts.

A house is rising in the parking lot of Spring Lake Park High School. More than 40 students in the new Construction Trades course are spending a few hours a day on the real-world, hands-on learning experience. Next spring, a completed one-level, two-bedroom home will be moved into our community.
High school teacher Scott Wicklund is leading the year-long project. He will be helped by many experts in the field through on-site work, tours and learning at local businesses. The goal is to expose students to the different trade options and have some fun while also helping them find a potential career path after graduation.
The Construction Trades course is part of the Technology, Engineering and Design Pathway. It will also include elements from our other two pathways at Spring Lake Park High School. Read more online.
Science and Social Studies
Students in Mrs. Scheuerell's class are learning about science and social studies each day. Lately, some of their projects have been learning about rain and clouds with shaving cream and food dye, force and motion by building ramps, and location by exploring our great state on the gigantic Minnesota map!
