BHS students to begin using iPads next school year
At its March 19 meeting, the Board of Education approved the use of iPad Generation 6 devices for all Barrington High School students, beginning at the start of the 2019-20 school year. Currently, all BHS students are issued MacBook Air 11-inch laptops, which have been discontinued by the manufacturer. The iPad allows the productivity functions of a laptop, increases creativity options for students, and allows students more opportunities to demonstrate learning. All iPad devices will have a detachable keyboard and an electronic pencil for tablet use. (see photo to the left).
At other high-performing high schools in our area and in comparable schools across the country, students are also using iPad devices, confirming high student achievement and rigorous instructional strategies . To learn more about the decision to switch to iPads, please read our FAQs.
BHS debate student wins state championship
Lincoln-Douglas Debate is a one-on-one form of debate where each student prepares both an affirmative and negative case for a predetermined topic. Debaters only find out which side they will have to argue moments before each round begins. Congrats Kalina!
