Monday Memo
Sept. 9, 2019~~~ A Newsletter for Teachers and Staff
Week 4 & 5:
"Every truth has four corners: as a teacher I give you one corner, and it is for you to find the other three." -- Confucius
WOW! Did Confucius just nail the gradual release model?!?!?!
Hello My Friends,
I am so thankful we (and our school roof) were spared from Dorian and my thoughts go out to those who have lost so much in the Bahamas. It's Week 5 and I can't believe how time is flying!
Progress Reports go home on the Wednesday the 11th! Team Leaders, be sure your team knows what grades need to be included and how to get these printed so that you are ready for these to go home. If anyone needs help, please do not wait until Wednesday.
Please plan on staying after school to celebrate with Ms. Karli Rowell and the rest of the staff at her Baby Shower! All are invited! 3:15 -4:15 PM
Thursday is an Early Release Day! We will send out a schedule for student lunches and bell times. All teachers will go through the line with their classes and will take a garbage bag.
Please bring a covered dish to share at our staff luncheon in the cafeteria Thursday. This is a great time to get to know everyone and build lasting friendships.
Friday is a plan day. Many will be at trainings. All plan days are scheduled from 8 am to 4 pm with an hour lunch at 11:30am. You can leave campus for lunch without needing to sign out.
If you haven't already done so, please send me your PBIS Expectations for your grade level and your PBIS Reward Plan for your grade level. What big events will you do with your grade level once every 9 weeks? Some grade levels are planning something around progress report time/ERD to recognize students, such as a sno-cone party. We want to recognize good behavior and celebrate it. Get with your team if you haven't already done so and then send me your plan. I will send team leaders a sample.
MTSS Meetings are Monday and Tuesday of this week. Please be prepared on Monday...if things are moving quickly, your Tuesday Meeting will be pushed to Monday and you should be ready. Mrs. Davis works very hard to assist and provide support. She is happy to help and we are certainly blessed to have such an organized and savvy Guidance Counselor. Thank you to teachers as well for being so well prepared and committed to making sure students receive all the supports they need to succeed!
We will resume PLCs next week.
I am currently averaging about 100 emails per day. Please take your questions to your team leader first. In the event that they can't answer, they can contact administration or bring it up at the Team Leaders meeting. Often your questions are applicable to the school, so this can be very helpful to others as well. However, I am certainly available to you should you need to speak with me. #Illbethereforyou
Thank you for all your hard work and dedication! Great things are in store for Central!

APPRECIATIONS
Thanks Ms. Jen! She decorated the office and I have to say it makes me feel like shouting, "HAPPY FALL Y'ALL!" Thanks for working so hard to learn payroll too!
Thank you Kindergarten for getting those little ones out to dismissal on the 'Dismissal Train' you have going. I see you working hard both in class and out to help our youngsters learn the rules and procedures at CES!
Coach Spearow-Thank you for coming across "THE ORGANWISEGUYS"! What a great way to teach about our bodies and how to stay healthy. It's great for science, although a little creepy to see how the organ friends come out of the kid they love (puppet). Watch the training video and you will see what I mean! HAHAHA!
Please know these are just a few of the appreciations captured this week.
