ROYAL REVIEW (9.18.2020)

To be Christ-centered in our words, thoughts and actions.

Queen of Angels Families,

I am happy to say that in-person school began on August 19, 2020. We do have some students that are participating virtually, but we cannot express how blessed we are to be in the building again.

Many thanks for the prayers that you provided for myself, the staff and the students and families during this time. It can definitely be felt and is so appreciated by all of us. This weekend’s psalm says, “The Lord is near to all who call upon him.” We have been calling upon him since March to end this pandemic and to help us gain normalcy again.

The Lord has been in our building this entire time, guiding us as we also made many interior changes. We were fortunate to utilize money from the Catholic Community Foundation endowment for the school to install new metal walls in the Monsignor Faber Activity Center, to cover up the ripping insulation that was on the walls. This endowment also allowed us to replace all of the exterior doors for the Activity Center as well as the front school doors. When looking at these repairs, we prayed to the Lord and asked him for guidance on how we would be able to make these necessary repairs. “The Lord is near to all who call upon him.”

This continued as we made several other improvements in the school, such as covering up the old railing to the stairs going upstairs, ensuring safety for all students. We also were able to remove the old stage from the Social Hall as well as the carpet off of all of the pillars. Much of this carpet was starting to mold and wasn’t safe for our students, especially in the facility that they use for lunch. With assistance from parishioners, we were able to cover the railing and build new casings for the pillars in the social hall. They are truly a tremendous sight and really have enhanced our Social Hall.

Finally, we were able to install new tile floors in all of our main hallway classrooms, as well as the main office, teacher’s workroom and my office. Again, we were blessed with the funding to make these improvements.

I truly believe that when we go to the Lord and keep him near to our hearts, he answers our prayers and blesses us beyond measure. Continue to pray and trust in the Lord during these troubled times. He will surround us with his Love and continue to Bless us.

Mary, Queen of Angels, Pray for Us!

Many Blessings,

Mr. Wiegmann

We recently found out that part of the COVID-19 relief policies, the USDA has approved all students in the State of Indiana to be able to receive a free school lunch. This will begin this Monday and we have already turned in orders. Students will be eligible for this from September 21st through December 31st.

If your child would like to order lunches, please return the menu you receive with your selections by September 25, 2020.

Vocation Journey Wall

As a way to honor and promote vocations, we have created a Vocation Journey Wall in the foyer of the school. Here is a brief description of the wall. We may begin our discernment to religious life as early as in elementary and middle school (The school picture). This may lead to discernment and acceptance into the Seminary (Seminarian Poster). While Seminary may lead to the Priesthood or other religious life (Fr. Zak picture). Some priests are then ordained as Bishops (Bishop Rhoades picture). This could then lead a religious priest being selected as Pope (Pope Francis picture). The crucifix above all of these pictures shows how all of this is possible due to Christ's ultimate sacrifice on the cross.

Our virtue this week is ASSERTIVENESS - The strength to be characterized by bold and confident action. Being a leader in any field of life requires some ASSERTIVENESS. You have to step up and make things happen, not wait around for everyone else to get the job done. You have to want it for yourself and for the your family, your team, your community.

Midterms are on September 24, 2020. Please make sure that you are checking Powerschool to be able to see your child(ren)'s grades.

Just a reminder that Bishop Rhoades will be celebrating Mass with our 5th through 8th Graders on Tuesday, September 29th (The Feast of the Arch Angels). Following Mass, he will visit the elementary classrooms.

We are very excited to welcome Bishop on this day and we continue to pray for Him as he continues to faithfully guide the Diocese.

This is a friendly reminder that students will no longer be able to wear shorts to school starting October 1st.

The second grade parents will have a First Reconciliation meeting with Mrs. Meyer and Father Zak on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. The meeting will be in the Religion classroom and will begin at 7:00 PM.

I would like to thank you for the Grace and understanding at morning drop-off. I feel like this procedure has went very smooth and I appreciate all that you are doing to help this work so well.

Mr. Wiegmann

The Angelus

V: The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.

R: And she conceived of the Holy Spirit

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women,

and blessed is the fruit of they womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners

now and at the hour of our death. Amen

V: Behold the handmaid of the Lord.

R: Be it done unto me according to thy word.

Hail Mary...

V: And the Word was made Flesh (genuflect)

R: And dwelt among us.

Hail Mary...

V: Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.

R: That we may be worthy of the promises of Christ.

Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts;

that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son,

was made known by the message of an Angel,

may by His Passion and Cross,

be brought to the glory of His Resurrection

through the same Christ our Lord. Amen

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,

a world without end. Amen

Glory be...

Glory be...
