Issue: Do you think that chewing gum should be allowed in schools?
Many research has shown that chewing gum actually improves learning by increasing brain activity and focus. Chewing gum should not be banned in schools because it could be the only thing to keep students awake. Even though teachers might have to scrap it off under the desk, it helps their students get better grades.
Chewing gum, should it be allowed in schools?
If I was a teacher I would you rather have your students get A's and B's or F's because they cannot focus. Most people would say that they would want their students to achieve. This is why chewing gum should not be banned in schools. "Research shows that chewing gum actually improves learning by increasing brain activity and focus." Most people don't understand that when they ban gum they are decreasing many kids grades. "Teachers and administrators alike say it is distracting, and it creates a janitorial nightmare." But if schools want their students to excel then they might want to change their rule of chewing bubble gum.
