Homer Highlights

Week of May 31, 2022

Dear Families,

Tomorrow is the last day of the 2021-22 school year! Just a reminder that school will be dismissed at 11 am. Thank you for helping to make this a great year!

Please take some time to enjoy summer with your students. Encourage your child to read every day! Create some structure and routine, even if it is more relaxed for summer. Take advantage of the variety of fun activities available here in the Homer community, from GAP events to the programming at the Homer Public Library! We will miss you this summer, but we have some exciting things planned for 2022-23!!!

Happy Retirement to Mrs. Danko!

Mrs. Wendy Danko is retiring from Homer Community Schools after 31 years of dedicated service to our students, staff and community as the K-12 Social Worker. She was honored at the annual Retirement Tea on Tuesday, May 31, with her family all present to celebrate with her! Words cannot express the impact that Mrs. Danko has had on generations of students and how much she will be missed!

6th Grade Camp Was a Hit!

This year, we were excited to bring back the Homer Middle School tradition of 6th grade camp! Students had the opportunity to spend three days and two nights camping with their classmates at the Potawatomi Campground. Thank you to 6th grade teacher Ms. Sarah Smith for putting together this wonderful video of memories!
