2020-2021 Transportation Authorization
Did you know that families can apply for Free and Reduced-Price meals if their household income has been affected by the current pandemic? By signing up today, families can ensure their children begin next school year with these benefits. Additionally, this eligibility can be used to access other types of public assistance or services that may be available during this pandemic, such as low-cost internet services. Fill out a Free and Reduced-Price Meal online application. Applications typically are processed within three days. Questions about Free and Reduced-Price meals, eligibility, and applications can be sent to SNP.FR@gcpsk12.org.

Get 2 Free Books for Summer Reading!
On June 17 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm come to Osborne Middle School or Jones Middle School with your child(ren) to pick out two free books. The GCPS Bookmobile has changed it's usual way of getting books to students. This summer there will be cluster events where every student in PreK-12 may come to pick out two free books. You will pull into the bus lane where the books will be on display on tables. Because of social distancing rules, you will need to follow all the directions of the staff at the event. Your child(ren) must be the ones to pick out the books. Mrs. Gindlesperger and I will be there too...hope to see each and every one of our families at the event! What a great opportunity to get some new books for free!
Fort Daniel's Summer Reading Program - Win a Free Kindle Tablet and many other prizes!
Fort Daniel wants to partner with and support families to encourage summer reading. Every student that participates in the summer reading program will be invited to a Summer Reading Celebration Party in the fall where we will have prizes for everyone and a special raffle drawing for free Kindle tablets or baskets of prizes. Families may choose how they participate:
1. Complete three rows of the Summer Reading Bingo Card.
2. Keep a paper reading log (sample logs are available on the website)
3. Use Beanstack, the public library's online reading log and motivation program (you can print the reading log, or the public library will send us the name of all participants at the end of the summer). Registration for the GCPL summer opened on May 1, and the program officially kicks off on May 20.
