1st QUARTER TESTING
Parents, next week students at VAHS will be taking quarterly assessments in their core classes. These assessments are aligned with the STAAR/EOC assessment rigor, and the primary purpose of these test is to give teachers an accurate view of student data and progress. To compensate for the difficulty of the tests, the state lowers the passing standard below 70%.
.
We do allow every student the opportunity to correct their test, and or teachers curve the scores to match the state passing standards. Please communicate with your student's teacher if you have a question or concern.Below is the schedule for quarterly exams:

CHROMEBOOK EXPECTATIONS
There are several issues regarding Chromebooks that students and parents need to remember:
- No stickers or markings of any kind are to be put on the Chromebook.
- If you drop the Chromebook, the screen will likely be damaged; it costs $75.
- If you drop the Chromebook and the case chips, it invalidates the warranty and will result in fines.
- If you lose the Chromebook, you are responsible to replace it at the district’s cost ($185).
- If you lose the case, you will be fined $15 to replace it.
- If you lose the charger, you will be fined $25 to replace it.
- If you are having any difficulty with your Chromebook, bring it to the library so we can determine what is wrong with it.
- Bear in mind that the Chromebook is district property, not yours. If you damage it or lose it, you must pay for its repair or replacement.
