Video Modeling
Video modeling is a visual teaching method that occurs by watching a video of someone modeling a targeted behavior or social skill and then imitating the behavior/ skill watched.

Video Modeling Example Using Book Creator
Video Modeling Tips
- Target a behavior/ task
- Take baseline data
- Plan
- Record the video
- Use an app to speed up the video if needed
- Delete any prompts/ mistakes
- Show the video many times
- Collect data to monitor progress
- Fade the video
When creating the video:
- Record from the student's point of view
- Use the least amount of prompts
- Limit verbal prompts

What's New in the Wild World of Prompts & Visuals
In this hand- on strand, learn how to use iPad apps including ChoiceWorks Calendar, Picture Scheduler, First Then, Symbol Support, Custom Boards, Apple Clips and Book Creator as well as Boardmaker Online and iMovie to increase student independent skills. Time will be provided for participants to use the medium of choice to create visuals. The prompting hierarchy, video modeling, social stories, mind mapping, and built-in iOS tools will also be presented.
