What is the Nervous System
The nervous system is a complex network of nerves and cells that carry messages to and from the brain and the spinal cord to various parts of the body. It includes the central Nervous System and the Peripheral nervous system.
Parts of the Nervous System
- The Glia, is one of the two broad classes of cells that provide neurons with mechanical and metabolic support
- the Oligodendrocyte, is found in the central nervous system that is in the tissues of the brain and spinal cord.
- the brain, is a sensory organ, and is responsible for the control of the body and communication among its parts.
- in the organism, the nervous system transmits impulses between parts of the body.
