Winter Swim Updates

Week 1: October 17, 2022

Team Building Meeting

Blue Wave Swim Team's winter season will officially begin on Wednesday, October 19. This first practice is a team building meeting and will be from 5:30 - 6:30. This is one of the few times that everyone will be there at the same time. There will be no swimming at this first meeting. We will be going over expectations and doing some team building activities. We would like ALL swimmers to join us for this meeting.

PRACTICE TIMES

The first official swim practice will be Monday, October 24.

Beginners/Intermediate:

  • M/T/W/Th: 5:15 - 6:15


Advanced:

  • M/T/Th: 6:15 - 7:45
  • W Dryland: 5:15 - 6:15
  • W Tech Practice: 6:15 - 7:00

Headsets

If you have purchased your own, please make sure that it is charged and with you. While we do have extra and will do our best to make sure that everyone has a headset, it is best that you purchase one to make sure that your child has one for every practice. We will use these for every practice!

Team Suits

Big picture
The Girls High School State Swim Meet will be here soon and we are in need of volunteers. In particular we need EACH FAMILY to sign up to sit at the entrances to the Y parking lots over the two days. We are charging for parking again this year and ALL the money will come back to the Blue Wave Swim Team. This is a huge fundraiser for us, but we need YOU as a Blue Wave parent to help us out.


We are in need of volunteers on NOVEMBER 11 and 12. Each shift will be 2 to 2.5 hours of time. Most families will have a barcode that you will scan, but there may also be some cash that will be exchanged. You will then hand them a ticket to be displayed in their windshield to prove they have paid for parking.


Shelley will be sending out an email through Teamunify so that you can sign up for a volunteer slot.


There will also be other volunteer slots that will be needed as well.
