June Lyon County 4H News for you!
Here is what’s new for Lyon County 4H in April
Meet our Summer Intern Bella Philips!
Hey! My name is Bella Philips, and I will be working as the summer intern this year. I am currently attending South Dakota State University pursuing a major in Agricultural Leadership and a minor in Events and Facilities Administration and will be starting my second year this fall. I have been involved in 4H for fourteen years and have participated in a variety of different projects, both livestock, and non-livestock. My favorite project area has been showing meat goats at the county and state fair. I am very excited to have the opportunity to work as the summer intern and look forward to getting to meet all of you this summer!

June 14 - Rockin and Rollin with Ice Cream! We will learn how to make America’s favorite summertime treat by either rolling it or shaking it in a bag! We will also share some of what cows eat that they consider to be treats!
June 21 - Shake it up with Princess Kay of the Milky Way! Our very own Minnesota Dairy Princess will share what she loves to do- promote dairy! We will be trying some different milkshake recipes and having some fun with a milk mustache contest!
June 28- Whip it up with Fruit! Whipped cream and fruit….Oh my! We will be making our own whipped cream to dip our favorite fruit in, learning the importance of dairy in our diets, and going on a virtual tour of a farmer’s market!
