Safe Neighborhoods for Children
A PSA
According to http://www.childtrends.org/?indicators=neighborhood-safety they say, "Having a safe neighborhood is important for a positive youth development. Neighborhoods that are unsafe end up with high rates of infant mortality and low birth weight, juvenile delinquency, high school dropout, child abuse and neglect, and poor motor and social development among preschool children. Children who live in good neighborhoods have positive outcomes such as stronger connections with family, friends and community, and greater participation in helpful programs, volunteering, and other services."
So in short that says simply where you live effects you.
Where you live can be important to your health. Just as conditions within our homes is important for our health, conditions in the neighborhoods surrounding our homes also can have major health effects on us.
Your neighborhood is where you practice your daily life, and you want your daily life to be safe.
This has been a message from Springville Jr. High School.
