Global Zoo
Students will be participating in a project based learning experience (our Global Zoo) in these last few weeks of school. We will divide the grade level into interest groups and study habitats and what plants/animals need to survive. The students will switch classes Mon-Thurs. 2:10-2:25, research their chosen habitat and animal. The final project will be to present a Non-fiction book to families about the animal they researched.
This is an integrated unit w/ science and writing standards as follows:
Science 1.L.1 Understand characteristics of various environments and behaviors of humans that enable plants and animals to survive.
Writing: W.1.2 Write informative/explanatory texts in which they name a topic, supply some facts about the topic, and provide some sense of closure.
We will provide families more details of the project and the presentation as we get closer to the date.
