October 5 & November 16 - 8:30 a.m. Serving Students Who Are Gifted
This two-day training is aligned to the competencies in Ohio's Gifted Operating Standards and will help you earn required gifted clock hours.
Participants will gain the ability to:
- Differentiate instruction based on a student’s readiness, knowledge and skill level,
- Select, adapt or create a variety of differentiated curricula.
- Provide an extension or replacement, to modify the learning process and to select alternative assignments and projects.
- Understand the social and emotional needs of students who are gifted.
- Recognize and respond to characteristics and needs of students, and
- Participate in the development of a Written Education Plan.
Fee: $240 for member districts / $275 for non-member districts. Lunch is provided.

October 6 or October 20 - 8:30 a.m. Strengthening Compliant Results-Driven IEPs
- Gain knowledge of the resources and methods to address the needs of students with disabilities, improve practices, improve outcomes and ensure compliance.
- Gain an understanding of the alignment between the ETR to the IEP with a focus on baseline data and progress monitoring. Please bring a copy of an ETR and an IEP to use along with our training activities. Be sure to remove any identifying information.
- Learn the resources and methods that will help you address the need for procedural safeguards while learning tips for effective IEP meetings.

October 20 - 9:00 A.M - LAMP Words for Life App for iPAD
The foundations of the LAMP approach will be briefly reviewed as well as the principals behind the development of the Words for Life™ application. Participants will practice saying single words, phrases and short sentences in the 1-hit, transition and full levels. In addition, participants will learn how to program and customize the application as well as use the features of word finder and vocabulary builder. In the afternoon, a variety of AAC teaching strategies will be reviewed to help teams implement LAMP WFL in school or at home.
This training is intended for individuals who have already purchased the application or are interested in learning more about the application.
