A Note From Deputy Schuster
Dabbing is a method of using highly concentrated forms of marijuana called THC concentrates, specifically a form called "wax." These concentrates can have much higher levels of THC than traditional marijuana, making them stronger and more potent.
In the past, marijuana had lower levels of THC, but in recent years, farmers have developed strains with THC percentages exceeding 20%. Additionally, people have learned how to extract THC from the plant using butane, resulting in concentrates with 70-90% THC content.
Teens use special devices to consume these concentrates. One method involves heating a glass or metal piece with a torch, then applying the wax to produce smoke that is inhaled. Another popular method is using a dab pen, which resembles a vape device and heats the concentrate to high temperatures for inhalation.
Some teens may also use whatever means to consume these concentrates, which can be dangerous since they may not know the source or content of what they are smoking. The cost of these are as low as $20.
Concerningly, they are small, produce minimal smoke, and have little odor. Commercial vapes now offer marijuana content, making it difficult to differentiate between nicotine and marijuana juices.
To address this issue, it is crucial to have open conversations with your student about the risks associated with these devices and the chemicals they introduce to their developing brains.

Dress Code
We believe that enforcing a dress code policy is crucial for maintaining a positive and focused learning environment for all students. We kindly request your support and cooperation in upholding these guidelines.
The purpose of our dress code is to promote a respectful and conducive atmosphere where students can concentrate on their studies and feel safe and comfortable in their school environment. We have outlined the key points of our dress code policy, and we would like to emphasize their importance:
Disruptive Clothing: Dress or grooming that is disruptive to the educational process is not permitted. This includes excessively revealing or distracting attire that may divert attention from academic pursuits.
Prohibited Endorsements: Clothing or accessories endorsing tobacco, alcohol, or other controlled substances are strictly prohibited on campus. We believe it is essential to maintain a healthy and substance-free environment for our students.
Footwear and Hats: Proper footwear must be worn for safety reasons. Hats are allowed in hallways and common spaces and are at the discretion of the teacher in classrooms. We encourage students to follow these guidelines while respecting the teacher's decision in the classroom.
Decency and Respect: Our administration and staff interpret and enforce standards of decency, which are intended to ensure an atmosphere of mutual respect among students and staff members. Maintaining a sense of dignity and propriety is paramount to nurturing a positive learning environment.
Appropriate Attire: Halter tops, mesh shirts, midriff-exposing shirts, tank tops, short skirts, short shorts, shorts with slits or cutoffs, and other types of suggestive clothing are not permitted.
Undergarment Coverage: Exposing undergarments, including over leggings, is not allowed. We believe it is essential to maintain modesty and uphold a professional atmosphere within our school community.
By adhering to these dress code guidelines, we aim to create an environment that fosters respect, focus, and an appreciation for appropriate dress and grooming. We firmly believe that maintaining these standards will contribute to an enhanced educational experience for every student.
We kindly request your assistance in reinforcing these guidelines with your child. Encourage conversations about the importance of appropriate attire and the impact it has on their education and the overall school environment. Together, let us instill values of respect, self-expression within appropriate boundaries, and a commitment to academic excellence.
