Message from Mrs. Figueroa
This week's events in Texas have been difficult to hear for all of us here at P.S. 188Q. Our heart breaks for their entire school community. Safety is our biggest concern here at P.S. 188Q and we will continue to review with students safety protocols and do everything we can to keep everyone at P.S. 188Q safe. Attached is Chancellor Bank's letter that was sent out to families on May 26th.
Thank you for all who came out to our Dancing Classrooms Family Celebration. We had a lot fun learning various dances. Thank you to Councilmember Grodenchik for sponsoring this event.
We will begin our annual Field Day this week. Students will be asked to wear the matching color of their class on the given date. Wednesday is Field Day for 1st and 2nd grade in the Main Building school yard. Thursday will be Field Day at the Annex for PreK and Kindergarten.
We will have an Art and Music show in the Main Building School yard on Thursday, June 2nd from 5:00-7:00 p.m. We hope you can join us! See the flyer below.
School begins at 8:00 a.m. The doors at the main building open at 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. at the Annex. We have allotted a ten minute window for students to arrive to school without being marked late. Students that arrive after 8:10 a.m. will be marked late. We need your help getting your children to school on time. Every minute counts!

Reminder,
if you are planning on moving over the summer or attending a private or parochial school in September and will not be returning to PS 188Q, please respond back to this email to let Mrs. Kennedy know so she is aware and knows which students will be receiving requests for school records. We want to ensure records and/or information is sent out in a timely manner to the school that is requesting them. Thank you.
