What is Racial Discrimination?
Racial Discrimination is when a person is treated less favorably than another person in a similar situation because of their race, color, descendant, national or ethnic origin or immigrant status ("Know Your Rights.."). Racial Discrimination is a very important subject, studies show that police are more likely to pull over Latinos than whites. Also, after being arrested, African-Americans are 33% more likely than whites to be detained( "11 Facts"). In 2010, the U.S. Sentencing Commission reported that African Americans receive 10% longer sentences than whites through the federal system for the same crimes ("11 Facts").
