Welcome Back Dolphin Families
Despite a bit of a slow, rainy start, the new school year is now in full swing. We've got a few important dates to keep track of and a couple of links for you to click on but, otherwise, this will be a short letter.
Also, this week is the first time that we'll have our new "Community Notes" feature. Community Notes is where we will post things like free events and services that may be of interest to families at Doyle. They are for informational purposes only and are not officially endorsed by the PTA.
π Dates to Remember π
- 9/4 Labor Day β No School
- 9/7 Back to School Night β 5:00-5:30 & 5:30-6:00
- 9/9 Free coding workshop at the La Jolla School (see community notes)
- 9/12 Doyle PTA Meeting β 6:00, in person and on Zoom
- 9/21 Coffee with the Principal β 7:45 AM in the auditorium
Our annual spirit wear sale is in full effect. Weβve got tees, hoodies, and sweats in all sizes and probably about a dozen colors, including multiple tie-dye patterns. Best of all, we have all new dolphin designs for the 23-24 school year. Itβs a great way to support Doyle and strengthen our school community.

There is strength in numbers and increasing PTA membership, even by just one, makes it possible to fund essential school resources and curriculum needs here at Doyle. The more members we have, the louder Doyle PTA can speak up and advocate for your child and impact decisions affecting your child's health, safety and quality of education. As the oldest and largest child advocacy association in America, PTA advocacy has resulted in things like universal kindergarten, national school lunch programs and later start times for high school students in California. Every member, every volunteer, every donation is important.
