Hello Families,

It was a short week that ended with an outstanding Talent Show hosted by our Taking Action conservatory students. The performers showed so much confidence and creativity. Fun was had by all, and our students collected a large amount of non-perishable food items for those who have food insecurity this holiday season.

Don't forget this week is parent conference week with dimissal at 12:50 PM every day. Our students and teachers have worked hard to prepare for our fall conferences and can't wait to meet with you. Please make it a priority to attend your child's conference and learn how they are progressing!

Our next Bagels with Benjie is this coming Friday morning at 8:15 AM in the PAC. Please join us for a light breakfast and coffee and learn about our Title 1 program and how we support all of our learners.

*Gates open at 7:30 AM for breakfast. Students may not be dropped off before 7:30 AM for safety since we do not provide supervision before 7:30.

This school year, breakfast will be available to students before school from 7:30-7:50 AM. Second Chance breakfast will no longer be offered during first recess. Students are welcome to bring a snack to the tables during recess time, but they are encouraged to come to school early if they would like a free breakfast from the cafeteria.

Breakfast and lunch is free for all students at Vista Academy. You do not need to fill out an application.

In order for volunteers to help in classrooms or outdoor spaces, here are the requirements:

• Must complete the VUSD Volunteer Application
• Review the Code of Conduct (images below)
• Must complete a TB questionnaire. If you have not had a history of TB, then you do the lab test. Please email our school nurse, Brenda VanDerPol, with any questions at brendavanderpol@vistausd.org.
