Scot Nation: At A Glance
July 24th-August 11th
YEP, It's the WELCOME BACK LETTER!
Scot Nation Esteemed Faculty and Staff,
We hope that you had an enjoyable summer! We know it was short, but there is something about the start of school that really makes us excited to meet new students, get reacquainted with returning students and prepare to make a difference in their lives. With this being my first year at Highland Park High School, there may be a little extra excitement (feel free to replace with anxiety) with what the year has in store. We are not optimistic, but confident that we have all the right people, at the right school, at the right time to do the right thing for all students at HP.
Thank you for taking the time to provide candid and passionate responses to the Keep, Change, Delete Survey. It was a piece of data we combed over during the summer making sure we understood the essence of each of your responses and the spirit intended. The team has helped give me more context to the comments. Additionally, we have been able to disaggregate academic and behavioral data to create goals for the 2017-2018 school year that are both, "Kid Focused and Data Driven!"
Are you ready to be a part of something amazing? Our school is destined for greatness! The gifts and talents of our students combined with the dedication and passion of our teachers and staff allows us to strive for excellence. Excellence is not the result of a good intention or clever slogan. It is not a value that is easily achieved. It comes from a strong, urgent desire to improve how we do things when we see something we can do better…and create a strategic, purposeful plan to DO IT!
“Good is the enemy of Great”. Therefore, continue to strive to be GREAT! The trials we may encounter will introduce us to our strengths or strengthen us in weaker areas. Fortunately, we are all members of this team, and have different strengths and weakness. As a CO-LABORING TEAM, we are unstoppable! Students will be the beneficiaries of our hard work. Remain focused . . . and we will build something worthy of our potential.” As we strive for excellence, we will move from Good to GREAT. Then, when we reach GREAT; we will be dissatisfied and desire AWESOMENESS!

This quiz is an activity;-) My cellular number is (405) 474-8514. I prefer you send messages to me through my cell over the Remind App. I really like Remind.com for me to push out information but not to receive it.
So, after you have read the At A Glance. Save my phone number in your cell phone and then text me a photo (a selfie will do) of you and/or your family and text, "I am ....your name...and what you do at HP. Remember, I have everyone's name to learn and remember, and you just have a few.
Thank you for participating!
