Moving Along With Mrs. Maddox
Dear Jaguar Families,
Happy New Year!!!! The teachers returned to work on January 4th, and we welcomed our students home on Tuesday January 5th, 2021. As we start another new year together many of us will begin to make a few resolutions that might benefit our health, or perhaps even balance our work and family life a little better. As your family is setting goals for the new year, don’t forget to set spiritual goals as well. How beautiful would it be if we all moved our own faith life to the top of the New Year’s resolution list? What if in 2021 we made Sunday Mass the priority for the week? Or, set a special night aside to pray a family rosary together? What if we added an hour of Adoration to our weekly routine? Raising a family is often messy, loud, and a lot of hard work … but like the Magi … taking time to stop and pay homage to our King will always set the right precedent!
Congratulations to those students who have made the 2nd Quarter Honor Roll, and congratulations also to our newly elected Student Leadership Team. All of these names are listed below in this edition of the eUpdate.
It is exciting to think enrollment for 2021-2022 will begin next month. We saw a small increase in enrollment this year, I anticipate the same enthusiasm for next school year. Our teachers and students had a dynamic first semester together!!! Spread the word ... St. Joseph is a fantastic place to raise a family. Together we Believe, Live, and Enliven our community every day, joyfully living out the virtues together!
With a grateful heart,

Nurse's Corner
Dear St. Joseph Parents,
I hope all have enjoyed a Blessed Christmas and that you have had a restful break these past 2 weeks. As we start this second semester of school, I wanted to let you know of our updated protocols regarding quarantines when exposed to COVID.
In December the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment adopted the CDC’s guidelines on revising quarantines for those exposed to positive cases of COVID. We have also decided to adopt these revised guidelines as we begin this third quarter of school.
The new protocol for quarantine is as follows:
· Without Testing: Quarantine for 10 days from last exposure to a positive case of COVID. If the person remains symptom-free, they may return to activities on day 11 after exposure.
· With Testing: Quarantine for 7 days from last exposure. A PCR test should be conducted on day 5 or later. If this test is negative and the person is symptom-free, they may return to activities on day 8 after exposure.
All close contacts, regardless of which quarantine procedure they follow, should continue to be monitored for 14 days from their exposure. If symptoms develop during the 14-day period, they would need to isolate and get a PCR test.
For those that test positive for COVID, isolation is required for 10 days from their onset of symptoms or their test date if they are asymptomatic.
Please continue to keep your child home if they do not feel well. Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.

St. Joseph Pandemic Prayer for Healing and Guidance 2020-2021
Good and Gracious Lord, You have led us through difficult times before and continuously guide us with your wisdom and dignity. Be our navigator as we encompass new and frightening paths. There is much strife and anxiety when it comes to the unknown. Please continue to be our safeguard and our comfort. Help all of us discover, acknowledge, and honor your blessings during these times of uncertainty. Walk with us this school year. In Your name we pray, Amen.
