Our Lady of Mercy
NEWSLETTER | TERM 4 | WEEK 6 | 16 NOVEMBER 2022
Year 4 have sung, danced, swam and worked their way through the first half of this Term. As the year draws to a close, we reflect on all the ways we have shared our God-given gifts, talents and strengths with our peers and community.
Universal Children's Day Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus.
Thank you so much for all the precious children in this world.
We know they mean so much to you. We pray you would help us do all we can to protect and give them the start in life they deserve.
Lord we bring to you all of the wonderful work being done to release children from poverty, and we pray that you would bless every pair of hands that works for you.
Increase and bless their efforts in Jesus name, Amen.
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
Week Six at our school is traditionally a week where we place extra focus on student and staff wellbeing. This term our wellbeing focus looks at the unique gifts that we bring to our school community every day. We celebrate that everyone is different and that both staff and students have strengths that are well developed and that need nurturing. As a community of learners, we are here to continually grow and to support the flourishing of every student and staff member.
This week we held a meeting for parents of students who will be attending Kindy in 2023. We welcomed families new to our school and it was a delight to share many aspects of what is special about our school with them, not least of which is the strong sense of community we value and nurture here.
While teaching and learning continues to be our focus right up until the end of term, teachers are now well into the reporting cycle and we will shortly be analysing data to celebrate student growth and to address any areas that need further development. Our leadership team are also currently planning staffing and class lists for 2023. It certainly is a busy time of year.
Reflection
This week our Assistant Principal, Meagan Zanetti lead our staff in a beautiful prayer. The prayer focus really helped us embrace that any changes we face in life are opportunities God has given us to grow and be challenged. We are reminded that God continues to mould us through life’s experience and that if we hope to grow, we must be willing to give thanks for each circumstance God leads us to and through.
God Bless you all.
