The DAR Good Citizens program is a brilliant way to recognize outstanding young
people who exhibit the qualities of good citizenship in their homes, schools, and
communities!
The DAR Good Citizens program and Scholarship Contest is intended to encourage
and reward the sparkling qualities of good citizenship in our students. The program is
open to all high school seniors enrolled in public or private schools accredited and in
good standing with their state board of education. Students are not required to be
United States citizens.
The student selected as the school’s DAR Good Citizen must have the following
qualities:
Dependability (truthfulness, honesty, punctuality, etc.)
Service (cooperation, helpfulness, responsibility, etc.)
Leadership (personality, self-control, initiative, etc.)
Patriotism (unselfish loyalty to American ideals)
Each school's DAR Good Citizen receives a DAR Good Citizens pin, certificate, and
wallet recognition card. This student is then eligible, if they wish, to enter the DAR Good
Citizens Scholarship Contest.

Track Meet Help
Collins-Maxwell will be hosting track meets on the following dates this year.
4/11 high school coed
4/21 high school coed
4/28 junior high coed
5/5 junior high conference meet
We are very excited to host these meets and show off our new track. With that being said it takes a lot of people to run a track meet. We are looking for people who would like to volunteer to help at our meets. We need people to help with field events, running events, hurdles, blocks, and other things that I am not thinking of right now. If you are interested in helping with any, or all, of the meets above please contact Troy Houge at:
thouge@collins-maxwell.k12.ia.us
If you have any questions you can also email me at the above address.
Thank you,
Troy Houge
