Savannah Ghost Pirates Hockey Game
Last weekend the Coosa Chorus performed the National Anthem at Savannah's Ghost Pirates Game. They did an amazing job during their performance, and we are so proud of our talented performers. We are very appreciative that so many Coosa families attended this event. Congratulations to Mrs. Smith and the Coosa Chorus students!
Black History Month Celebration Assembly
We enjoyed an interactive performance with Dr. Marlena Smalls and the Hallelujah Singers during our assembly today. The students were engaged as they interacted/listened to the Hallelujah Singers, our School Chorus, Coosa Cadets, and the Drama Club presentation.

Read-A-Thon
We're very excited about our upcoming Read-A-Thon fundraiser. Students received information about setting up an online account to raise funds and record reading minutes. They will have the opportunity to earn prizes which will be redeemed through the Read-a-thon's online store. Thank you for those who have created accounts in preparation for next week's kick-off! Our school community has raised over $2,000 prior to the start of the event!
We also want to share an amazing opportunity for local businesses. If you own, manage, or know of a business that would like to support our school, consider becoming a Read-A-Thon sponsor. By becoming a sponsor, a business will gain exposure to thousands of individuals who are all passionate about supporting literacy and our community.
Hurry, as there are only a limited number of digital and printed sponsorship spots available, including an exclusive Literacy Champion sponsorship. Reserve sponsorship spots today by clicking here. As always, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your support of our school community.
2024 School Climate Survey- Grades 3-5 only
https://www.beaufortschools.net/families/parents/parent-notices/surveys-opt-out/2024-sc-student-climate-survey-opt-out-form. Although the deadline on the form states February 23, Coosa will not be taking the survey until mid-March, therefore opt out forms will be accepted until Friday, March 1.
Career Day
Last year we had more than 25 careers represented at our event. In the past we have had so many amazing careers represented such as medical personnel, massage therapists, journalists, electricians, bakers, beauticians, personal trainers, etc. To make this even more interactive, we would love to have multiple vehicles, to include military vehicles (are any of our service members able to make this a reality for our students?), emergency vehicles, food trucks, police cars, heavy machinery, etc.
If you are interested in participating please RSVP or reach out to Mrs. Bossak with any questions at nicole.bossak@beaufort.k12.sc.us or 843-322-6123.
