What's Up in the Tech World
Share YouTube videos with no distractions!
Hi all,
I think we had a good week last week. Hopefully, you are getting your tech issues answered by myself or the tech aids. If you have an issue that needs immediate attention, please call the help desk phone. If you have issues that are not urgent, please use the helpdesk ticketing system. You can find the link under "Quicklinks" on the school website.
I have included a link below to a blog post detailing several different options to allow teachers to show YouTube videos with out the distracting related sidebar. Sometimes we find a great video but some of the related material may be inappropriate or just distracting to students. There are many options a teacher has to remove these distractions.
I have also included a video about the Google Cast for Education app. Teachers can share their screen with each student's laptop or allow students to share their screen with the teacher (which you can project for the class). This app can be used with Google Classroom as well. I haven't used this app yet but if you are interested I will be happy to come work with you to test it out.
Have a great week, and let me know how I can help!
