Substitute Teacher for Media Center

Dear Families,

My name is Mrs. Jennie Beran, and I am so excited to be your child's substitute teacher while Mrs. Beckman is on maternity leave. We are going to learn so many new and exciting things together! Recently, I had the opportunity to shadow Mrs. Beckman in order to familiarize myself with her routines, schedules, and the media center STEAM curriculum. I will be following and instructing the students from lesson plans she as prepared in advance.

After graduating from Miami University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, my first teaching job was in fourth grade right here at Symmes Elementary School. Over my 10 years here, I taught third and fourth grade until I decided to stay home and raise my family. My husband and I have three wonderful children. Our oldest child, Adam, is a senior at Miami University and will be graduating this spring with a finance degree. Our daughter, Claire, is a sophomore at Miami and is studying Speech Pathology. Our youngest child, Colin, is a sophomore at Loveland High School where he runs cross-country and track.

For the past 10 years, I have been employed as a substitute teacher in both Loveland and Sycamore School Districts. I have had several opportunities to long-term sub for teachers within the Sycamore School District at Symmes and Maple Dale and know many of your children already!

I look forward to working with all of the wonderful Symmes students beginning in January!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Beran (Mrs. B)
