Good Evening Pershing Families!
Quick reminders for your calendars next week!
Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Back-to-School Night is NEXT MONDAY, August 8th, from 6 - 6:45p.m. in person in the classroom. Although masks are not required, they are strongly encouraged. Kindergarten teacher Miss Schrader is in room 1, and Mrs. Broaddus is in room 3. Transitional Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Davenport is in room 2. Back-to-School Night for TK and Kindergarten are early to help answer new family questions, as many families are starting with their first child in school. We hope this helps to ease any worries and make the first day of school smooth for our youngest students!
Meet & Greet Your New Teacher on Tuesday, August 9th!
Please join us to meet your child's new teacher on Tuesday, August 9th from 8a.m. - 9a.m.! Teachers will each be at their classroom door and will meet with students and parents at the doorway of the classroom. If you cannot attend, please know it is not mandatory in any way. This is an opportunity for your child to meet the new teacher, see the classroom door area, locate the place to line-up for school Thursday morning on the blacktop, and possibly reconnect with friends from last year! For those who are new, this also gives you an opportunity to talk about drop-off and pick-up routines so they are clear for the first day of school. This event is for students and families, and is for all grades!
To help prevent long lines or crowds, please consider coming during the suggested time frame below based on your first letter of your child’s last name:
For families who are unable to bring a student to the "Meet and Greet," please rest assured that many staff will be available to assist students the first day of school to help them know exactly where to go, and will even walk students to class, if they need support.
When is the first day of school? Thursday, August 11th!
School begins on Thursday, August 11th at 8:55a.m. and dismisses at 2:10p.m. On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, dismissal will be 3:25p.m. for kindergarten through 6th grades. On Thursdays, dismissal is at 2:10p.m. Transitional kindergarten is a half-day program and is dismissed at 12:15p.m. every day. Being that we start on a Thursday, please remember dismissal is at 2:10p.m. on the first day of school. Friday, dismissal is at 3:25p.m. The Bell Schedule is linked and posted below, as well.
