What is Mitosis Vs What is Meiosis

Mitosis - a type of cell division that results in two daughter cells each having the same number and kind of chromosomes as the parent nucleus, typical of ordinary tissue growth.

Meiosis - a type of cell division that results in four daughter cells each with half the number of chromosomes of the parent cell, as in the production of gametes and plant spores.

You go through Mitosis Daily

Cell division happens in your body daily. Mainly when you sleep, this helps you heal wounds or just replace dead cells. But Meiosis is about your sex cells not about your skin cells or hair cells, but it is about your sperm cells (male) egg cells (female).

How are they different?

Meiosis has two rounds of genetic separation and cellular division while mitosis only has one of each. In meiosis homologous chromosomes separate leading to daughter cells that are not genetically identical. In mitosis the daughter cells are identical to the parent as well as to each other.
