Message from the Principals
Dear Westbrook Families,
A sincere thank you to everyone in our Westbrook community for making Teacher Appreciation Week so special! We are very grateful to be working with such supportive parents and families! Your kind words, encouragement and FOOD were so meaningful and appreciated. A huge shout out from our entire staff to everyone that made this week amazing.
An extra special thanks to our PTA for organizing the events that took place over the course of the week including; breakfast, lunch, staff shout-outs, and collecting gift cards for our staff raffle. It provided the much needed boost we needed to make sure the end of the year is a success!
Thank you also to all parents that submitted feedback to help with our class placement process. This is extremely helpful as we build classes for the upcoming year.
Please feel free to join us the afternoon of May 17 for our Ground Breaking ceremony at Westbrook. (Details below). Over the next few weeks you will see a construction fence being added to the property at Westbrook School too. Construction will begin soon in preparation for a new playground to be added on the south side of the building for next year and an expansion to the east side of the building to make space for full day kindergarten starting for the 2022-2023 school year. We are VERY excited for these changes here at Westbrook!
A final note, this week our students at Westbrook have been creating some extra special projects this week for mothers and grandmothers to celebrate Mother's Day. I would like to share a story that happened this week. I was inside one of our early childhood classrooms and one student said to me, "Mr. Hoeft, my mom is a superhero!" I replied, "That is awesome! What is her super power?" The student replied without missing a beat, "She can make me stop crying!" Happy Mother's Day to all of our Westbrook mothers and grandmothers.
Warmly,
Patrick, Martha and Maggie
