Principal Post
One thing is for sure, remote learning is difficult and so much different compared to in person learning. Another for sure thing is that everyone involved, students, staff and parents, are working so hard to make this remote learning plan a success. I have been very impressed by the student participation and engagement levels that I have witnessed the last several days. I also appreciate the dedication and commitment from the DuJardin staff to ensure that remote learning is as close to in person learning as possible. We will get through this together and before you know it we will be back at school in some form or fashion which hopefully is sooner rather than later.
Mark your calendar for next week Thursday evening for our virtual Curriculum Night which will take place from 4:30-7:30pm. Parents will have an opportunity to listen to teacher presentations and ask questions. There will be three sessions on Thursday evening, The first session will run from 4:30-6:00pm and will be for those parents interested in chatting with fine arts, special education and support services staff. Then from 6:00-7:30pm classroom teachers will have two scheduled sessions. Teachers will present from 6:00-6:40pm and then a repeat session will run from 6:50-7:30pm. Stay tuned for more information and invites from your child's teacher.
Early Release/Staff Development days begin next Wednesday, September 9th and will take place every other Wednesday for the remainder of the school year. Students will be dismissed at 1:40 on these early release Wednesdays. These days will also include "Student Material Pick-up" from 2-6pm. This will be for any grade level that needs to send materials home with students or for students to drop off materials at school. Additional information regarding this pick-up and drop off schedule will follow from grade level teams.
