OCTOBER 2023 Board Considerations
Monthly Update on CFAUSD Board of Education Activities
Purpose
October 30, 2023 Budget Hearing & Regular Board Meeting
As we continue to navigate these challenging times, I want to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of looking out for one another and speaking up when we notice concerning behaviors.
Our school district utilizes the SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT program, which allows anyone to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities targeting students, staff, or schools. Tips can be submitted 24/7 by phone (1-800-MY-SUSO-1), text (738477), mobile app (Apple Store or Google Play), or online (Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District - Speak Up Speak Out Wisconsin). SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT gives us the ability to break the culture of silence and get help to those who need it.
Research shows that in most school violence cases, someone knew about the attacker's plans but failed to report it. SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT aims to change this by making it easy and anonymous to share concerns. When you submit a tip, your identity is protected to the full extent allowed by law. The goal is not punishment, but early intervention and support.
With your help, we can make our school community safer. If you see or hear something worrisome, please SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT. Together, we can ensure all students feel comfortable coming to school each day.
Thank you for your partnership in this effort.
