FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Father Doyle Families,
It's been a busy and exciting week as we returned from break! We're looking forward to our Family Fun Night on May 6th, the dedication of the new Learning Center, and the start of some exceptional summer camp opportunities.
You can find the complete details for Summer Camps, including links to the registration form by clicking here. We're thrilled to be able to offer eight weeks of camps for all ages and interests! Please note, the deadline for registering for summer camps is Friday, May 13th.
We're also pleased to launch our new Uniform Purchasing Program for the 2022-2023 school year, which can be found at the link here: http://fjvduniforms.square.site. In order to address challenges with ordering this past year, we are moving to a bulk ordering system with Donnelly’s for the 2022-2023 school year. Utilizing the link above, families can place orders for Donnelly's uniforms which will then be shipped directly to the school for pick-up. Please note, in order to maintain bulk ordering, orders will be placed with Donnelly's on the 4th of every month. Orders placed after the 4th will be placed in the following month's order.
In addition, I'm thrilled to share that our annual Read-a-Thon was once again a tremendous success! Thanks to the support of our families - and the hard work of our readers! - we surpassed our goal and raised a total of $6,195.00! In recognition of this success, we will be holding a "Thankful Thursday" celebration at the end of May. Stay tuned for more details! Read-a-thon proceeds go directly to support the enhancement of our reading programs across the grade levels.
And a final reminder that our last Open House of the 2021-2022 academic year is Monday, May 9th from 5:00pm-7:00pm. If your middle school student would be interested in serving as a student ambassador at the Open House, they should see Mrs. Marra as soon as possible. Know of a family who may be interested in learning more about Father Doyle? Prospective families can register at the following link: https://bit.ly/FJVDOpenHouseMay9. Thank you for helping to spread the word!
Staffing Notices
Lastly, please join me in thanking the following staff members who recently announced their plans to retire at the conclusion of the 2021-2022 academic year. We are blessed to have so many long-serving, dedicated staff members at Father Doyle, and the following staff will certainly be missed next year!
Mrs. Cheryl Coderre
Mrs. Coderre began her time at Father Doyle in 1993. Since then, her kindergarten classroom has been a place not only of great academic growth, but also one of social, emotional, and spiritual growth. Her naturally calm and nurturing presence and passion for introducing students to the joys of formal schooling will certainly be missed. We wish her the best in her retirement!
Mrs. Alexis Heller
Mrs. Heller began her time at Father Doyle School in 2004 and, for the past eighteen years, has engaged students with her Spanish instruction, led students to great insights in her literature classes, and shaped the hearts and minds of students in religion class. We will certainly miss her dedication to her students and her passion for the faith. We wish her the best in her retirement!
Mrs. Kate Jussila
Mrs. Jussila has served pre-kindergarten students at Father Doyle School for the past nineteen years, beginning her time here in 2003. Over those nineteen years, many students and families have been touched by the joy, love, and humor she brings to the classroom each day. She will be greatly missed in the halls of FJVD, and we wish her the best in her retirement!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! God bless, and go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

COVID-19 Travel Policies
Current RIDOH guidance states “if you’re traveling to Rhode Island from a location within the United States... you’re not currently required to quarantine or get tested after arrival whether or not you’re vaccinated.” However, to lower the chances of spreading COVID-19 and help mitigate risk within the school community, Father Doyle is requiring students who are not vaccinated who have traveled from a location for vacation or similar extended stay within the United States to submit a negative PCR test taken upon their arrival back in Rhode Island prior to returning to school.
Unvaccinated students choosing not to get tested will be required to quarantine for seven days while monitoring for symptoms before returning to school. Vaccinated individuals do not need to test or quarantine prior to returning to school.

Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
