The wildfires that have raged through our state have had a tremendous impact on our friends and neighbors near and far. I hope this message finds you and your families in a safe place and out of the elements. The safety and well being of our students, staff and families will always take precedence when it comes to the delivery of our instruction. Thankfully today the rain is coming down and there are clearer skies on the horizon.
As we wrap of this week of our Comprehensive Distance Learning I hope our students are getting acclimated to this format and starting to make those important connections with staff members and their peers. It is to be expected that we encounter some technical difficulties throughout this process. As a staff we are constantly altering and adjusting, sometimes at a moments notice, to meet the needs of our students. I want to commend our staff for making these adjustments and working through these issues without warning. I have heard some feedback from parents about the pacing of the lessons. Remember that some of these are being recorded and attached to the Google Classroom pages so that they might be referenced at a later time.
If you are having difficulties with technical issues related to Zoom and Google Classroom please
reach out to our teachers and/or our front office so that we may assist you in getting connected.
We are going to make another go of our all school virtual assembly next week on Wednesday 9/23. Families are encouraged to take part in the assembly using the following zoom link:

This Friday 10/25 we are having a virtual spirit day. All students are encouraged to wear their YC gear.
We will start having a designated pick up day for classroom materials beginning on Thursday September 24th in the main foyer of our building. Grade level teachers will communicate out what, if any, items will be available for pick up.
Thank you everyone for a productive week of school. It's still early in the school year but our attendance and engagement has seen marked improvement from last spring. Lets keep the momentum rolling!
Sincerely,
Matt Wiles
