Important Announcements
Buckingham C.A.R.E.S.
Last year, the “Manners of the Month” program was initiated by Mr. Durie and Mr. Rosica. This program focused on fostering a safe and productive learning environment, by highlighting specific manners that encouraged pro-social etiquette and positive relationships in our school.
After analyzing a building-wide survey, Buckingham will continue to focus on promoting positive behaviors and manners. This year, you will notice there are framed blue and gold posters hanging around our school. They will be hanging near the bathrooms, cafeteria, playground, bus area, and lunch line. These framed posters are there to remind students about using great manners and to follow the Mighty Knight Pillars of character!
Each poster highlights the acronym C.A.R.E.S.. This acronym stands for, “Cooperation, Act Safely, Respectful Actions, Encourage Others, and Sportsmanship. These are all qualities we hope to instill in our aspiring Mighty Knights.
Each month, our WBMK news crew will highlight one area of the building to share with students. These focus areas will also be published in the S.M.O.R.E.S. newsletter. Please be sure to take a few minutes each month to review these important actions and behaviors with your children, and remind them that a Buckingham Mighty Knights always C.A.R.E.S.!

Buckingham Fall Fest
Buckingham's annual Fall Fest was once again a highlight to the early part of our school year! The Buckingham Elementary students, staff and families were central to a wonderfully fun event - that will benefit the students throughout the school year. Thanks to Cindy Dobbins and Leslie Hamilton (and all of the amazing leads) for their time, effort and commitment to making it a great day!

5th Grade Adventures in Education at Elbow Lane
Fifth grade students and teachers tackled high and low ropes in a camp setting, with beautiful weather and sunshine. Only the walls of nature were necessary for the lessons learned at Ropes Course, Elbow Lane.
The program encourages self-esteem and problem solving strategies through teamwork and cooperation. Students were asked to face their fears while trusting their peers. The exciting memories and overall learning experience will benefit our students throughout the year!

Buckingham Fall Fest "THANK YOU!"
From Fall Fest Co-Chairs, Cindy Dobbins and Leslie Hamilton:
We tell our kids that hard work pays off and what better example can we show them than our Fall Fest. Everyone played such an important role in creating our success and I thank you for sharing your tremendous hard work, your valuable time, your endless talents and your unwavering support. One of the greatest rewards of this event has been the opportunity for me to meet and get to know so many of the fabulous people in our school's community. Thank you for your support!
