KT 1 & 2-Course Description
This course is designed to teach the fundamentals of Kinesio® Taping for the entire body as outlined by the Kinesio® Taping Association. Kinesio® Taping techniques are used to re-educate the neuromuscular system, reduce pain, prevent injury, and promote lymphatic flow and healing. Participants will learn the core concepts of the Kinesio® Taping method and will practice the techniques through multiple, intense lab sessions. 16 CEU's are awarded for completion of KT 1 and 2.
PTNW KT 1 and 2 Course Registration Fees include $180 worth of KTA approved items/services per person: Full-color reference workbook, 2 month membership access to reference database, and x3 rolls Kinesio Tex® FP Tape to use during lab sessions.
This course is approved by the Kinesio Taping® Association
Who can attend this course? Physical and Occupational Therapists, Physical and Occupational Therapy Assistants, Massage Practitioners, Athletic Trainers, and Chiropractors.
Approval: All KT courses are approved for PTNW and/or the KTA by NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork) and American Occupational Therapy Association.

Instructor: Kyle Nelson, MPH, ATC-R, CKTI
Kyle graduated from Portland State University in 1996 with a BS in Health and Fitness Promotion with a minor in Athletic Training. He received a Master of Public Health from Portland State University in 1998 and was certified as a Kinesio® Taping Instructor in 1997. Kyle attended the Kinesio® Taping Association Symposium in Tokyo, Japan in 1999. Kyle currently works at Hope Orthopedics of Oregon in Salem, Oregon as the Athletic Training Coordinator for outreach programs. Kyle is an excellent instructor, making complicated concepts seem easy!
