Rouge Community College
I plan on taking a few courses here to further my education in accounting because it is close and affordable. I love the atmosphere at RCC and many of my friends attend or plan to attend here. They have a nice variety of classes that would all suit my needs for accounting. Even if I want to delve even deeper into the accounting business, it would be cheaper and easier to get what classes I am able to get done here, such as pre-requisites, and all the classes they offer, before continuing onto another school.
University of Notre Dame
If I wished to attend a more renowned university a little farther from home, I think I'd like to attend the University of Notre Dame. The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign College of Business offers a four-year program in accounting that is designed to teach students a wide array of accounting topics. Courses include government accounting, financial accounting and accounting information systems. Students who want to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation have the option to take a more lengthy program that awards a master’s degree. A master’s degree is a requirement for potential CPAs in the state of Illinois.
Universal Class
This is a good program to learn on my own time. I have already completed the Quickbooks 101 class they offer with a 96%. Their courses taught/can teach me accounting principles, how to read financial statements, debits and credits, accounts payable, QuickBooks and so much more. Because their courses are self-paced and always open, I'm able to stop at any time and continue later. No extensive prior computer experience is needed.
